Seems like a good place to start. If I actually try to catch up with the hundreds of albums I’ve listened to in the past few years, then I’d never get this blog written. So I might as well start with whatever was playing at that moment.
So I’m starting here with Bodysnatchers! Woot.
They sound massive and the drops/breakdowns are so good.
This is a short one from their 2024 EP.
Tracklist + thoughts
- Infested: Great start, massive intro + drop. Picks up speed. Here we go.
- Severed: Not letting up. It’s got some good groovy parts.
- Human Disdain: Absolutely MASSIVE drops, great for playing all day long. Great riffs, great breakdown.
- Confession: An interlude. You don’t see those often nowadays.
- Murder8: With Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed). Jamey comes in, and since he has an unmistakable voice/style, it adds an extra dimension. CRAZY breakdown in the last half minute. (It’s in my Best Breakdowns playlist)
- Say Goodbye: Starts off nice and soft, but we get back on track real quick. The last half minute slows down and has a great ending to the album.
Kyle Medina is bursting with energy and the whole band locks in to deliver a solid deathCORE experience. I especially loved 3, 5, 1.
Also saw them live!
AND I was the one with the silly “not 67” mosh call when they played Brisbane.
Anyways, loved them live, love their music, so I’m starting off the music reviews with this EP I guess.
Gotta write one for their newest album, “Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home” soon!
